DURGA PUJA
Durga Puja is one of India's most vibrant and grand festivals, primarily celebrated in West Bengal, Assam, Odisha, and other parts of the country. It honors Goddess Durga's victory over the demon Mahishasura, symbolizing the triumph of good over evil. The festival lasts for ten days, with the last five marked by elaborate rituals, cultural performances, and grand feasts. Pandals (temporary temples) are set up with beautifully crafted idols of the goddess, attracting millions of devotees.
The celebration is not just religious but also a cultural extravaganza filled with dance, music, and artistic displays. People dress in traditional attire, visit pandals, and enjoy festive delicacies like sweets and street food. The last day, Vijayadashami, signifies the immersion of Durga idols in rivers or water bodies, bidding farewell to the goddess. Durga Puja fosters a spirit of unity, joy, and devotion, bringing communities together in a shared celebration of faith and heritage.
